Roger Hardy on ‘The roots of radical Islam’.
June 21 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Why has Muslim extremism evolved from a local to a global phenomenon? Roger Hardy looks at the underlying causes, and asks if Western intervention (notably in Iraq in 2003) hasn’t made a complex problem even harder to resolve.
Roger is former Middle East analyst with the BBC World Service, an Associate Fellow at Oxford University’s Green Templeton College and the author of two books: “The Poisoned Well; Empire and its legacy in the Middle East” and “The Muslim Revolt; A journey through political Islam”.
Doors open 7.30 for 8pm start.
